Dialogue Objective:

The current COVID pandemic has caused a lot of stress in the healthcare sector (particularly on diagnostic chains), with hospitals getting swamped with COVID-19 patients and handling regular consults. Lockdowns and social distancing due to COVID-19 gave a significant boost to digital business models. Organizations had to find ways to keep up the operations, make business continuity plans, and engage the workforce working remotely. Even healthcare providers took to technology such as telemedicine, chatbots, and remote monitoring equipment for patients who were not able to visit doctors in person. Government of India has also announced “One Nation One Health Card” scheme which will provide digital access to person’s medical history, records such as tests, diagnosis, and treatments. These can be accessed by an authorised person from anywhere in the country.

Going forward, Indian Medicare needs to become data driven–capture patient information and allow it to be freely shared digitally across various levels of the medical infrastructure. Small-town hospitals need to be able to get data from PHC/CHCs and pass it to a speciality hospital seamlessly. Remote medicine needs to become a part of standard delivery. Further, the medical regulatory regime needs strengthening with tamper-free quality control of private sector institutions.

With many changes happening around, finance professionals also need to come up to speed with the changes already there and the changes coming in future. They need to play a key role in ensuring that the required is achieved to make Indian Healthcare better than ever before.

This program aims to:

  • Discuss the latest trends in Health Diagnostics in India and across the world
  • Analyse the strengths and challenges in coming future
  • Impact of National Digital Health Mission
  • Role of finance professionals in ensuring the achievement of required standards, whether being in the role of a Board Member, CFO, Banker, Capital Market Participant, Auditor, Management Accountant, Company Secretary, or a Tax Consultant.

Audience: Finance professionals across India shall join this discussion. Average expected audience is ~1000 people.
